I have had to watch the care of my gums carefully for several years now. I was constantly on the brink of needing some serious gum surgery.Then I found these interdental brushes at Wal-Mart and decided to try them. As part of an overall program of care (floss once each day, brush twice each day, use interdental brushes twice a day), my gums have improved to the point where they are very stable and I am off the "watch list."
I use them by dipping them in Listerine before each swipe in my mouth. That gets the Listerine thoroughly distributed in my mouth before I brush (with an electric toothbrush, I might add); I rinse with the remainder of the Listerine after brushing.
When I added the interdental brush/Listerine routine to my daily care, I noticed an improvement after a very short time. After a couple of months, my dentist and my periodontist noticed it, too. After a couple of years, the improvement was enough to have them stop suggesting other work they might do, and that improvement has remained for a couple more years now.
A few months ago, Wal-Mart stopped stocking these brushes; I went to several Wal-Mart stores to try to buy them, but struck out at all of them. I finally bought a pack at a local drug store and paid considerably more than I had at Wal-Mart. Then I realized that if I bought them in large enough quantity to bring down the cost of shipping per pack, I could get them through Amazon.com. So I bought 10 packs and had them shipped. Each brush lasts for only a few days, so a pack of 8 lasts only about a month. So it will take me almost a year to use up my 10 packs, but that seems reasonable.
