Quirky Broom Groomer Dust Pan Review

I am completely disappointed. This seems like such a neat idea for a product. The grooming portion of this product worked fairly well and I was pleased with that. Unfortunately, the Broom Groomer I ordered was warped so the rubber lip did not make contact with the floor. When I attempted to sweep dust and debris into the pan (either with broom or whisk broom) the debris went beneath the pan no matter what I did. It was maddening! I took pictures. I contacted Quirky. They informed me there was nothing they could do because I purchased through Amazon. I discovered that a defective product can be returned without being charged for shipping. So, I requested an exchange through Amazon--wondering if that was simply an isolated defective one and the next would work as advertised. Sadly, no dice. A second Broom Groomer arrived and was warped just as the first...
I give the Broom Groomer one star because:
1) The idea for the product is good
2) Quirky did respond in a timely manner (although I was displeased with them not standing behind their product in a better way)
3) Amazon returns are easier than I thought (and Amazon gets five stars here for not charging return shipping on a defective product)
4) there is no way to give the Broom Groomer zero stars except right here in this review
I wanted this dustpan to work so much! I have a Harper Brush broom I absolutely love. I believe in having tools that you buy once and that make your life easier when you must do a job. I really had hoped this would be a perfect pairing. Quirky told me they are not having problems with defective pans being turned out from production, but I beg to differ. If they fixed the warping issue this product would be GREAT. Until they fix the problem this gets no stars from me. I cannot have a non-functional dustpan around no matter how neat a concept the grooming portion of the product is. A non-functioning dustpan hanging around just for that seems absurd and would frustrate me every time I set eyes on it.
