I've been combing my hair for a long time. I've had long hair (waist length) and short hair, and I've used a lot of combs of different types and manufacture. And I can say that there is no better comb than Ace
Ace used to be the default pocket comb for men. When barber shops were barber shops instead of hair styling salons it was not unusual for Ace combs to be sold by the barber. And the reason was that Ace combs were, and are, the best combs made. The material (a form of hard rubber) is superior to nylon or plastic. The geometry of the comb can't be beat. The teeth are neither too long nor too short. The teeth of the comb seems to be almost polished instead of molded.
Brut, ConAire and several other manufacturers have tried to capture Ace's lightening and have failed. Other companies may make cheaper combs, but they make combs that one isn't sorry to loose. A cheap comb is simply that. Cheap. One might as well use a fork to comb one's hair as use any comb other than Ace.
Ace combs, for some reason, have become somewhat more difficult to find. Neither CVS nor Target carry Ace combs. Thankfully, Ace combs are available from Amazon.
Ace combs are a little more expensive than drug store combs, but they are well worth the price. They are good to your hair and they last forever. The only reason I'm ordering the six-pack is because I tend to lose combs.
And I would encourage women with long hair to use the Ace wide toothed comb. They are much better for one's hair than a brush or cheap comb.
