Toms Of Maine Long Lasting Spearmint Ice Wicked Fresh Toothpaste Review
This review is about Tom's Wicked Fresh Spearmint Ice (not Cool Peppermint). I see that both are available.I agree with everything Paul said. I am very happy with this product. It has a mild, cool, very slightly tingly taste, but does not feel like it is burning my mouth. There is no strong aftertaste. The big surprise was the next morning. I usually wake up with a stale, grungy taste in my mouth. If I brush with this toothpaste in the evening, my mouth has almost no bad taste the next morning. This is a winner for me on all counts.
I also like that the tube is metallic, not soft plastic. I'm not very far into the tube, but I think I will be able to roll it up from the end and it will stay rolled up. Some of those soft plastic tubes unroll making it difficult to get all of the toothpaste out.
I bought a tube from a local drugstore because I was looking for something that didn't burn my mouth. I had tried several of the major brands and always felt like my mouth was on fire. Do they purposely add something to make it burn so we dumb consumers will think it's medicine?
I was also annoyed with the stand-up squeeze pumps because they leave a lot of toothpaste inside the cartridge. Take one apart after you have squeezed as much as you possibly can.
Here are a couple of links to interesting articles about toothpaste and ingredients. I'm not a rabid organic eco-nut, but I do have concerns about artificial ingredients. I like that Tom's makes an effort to avoid most of the chemicals, especially the sweeteners - a real oxymoron in a tooth care product.
