I had the same exact thing happen to me. I first used this a few days ago and lost all taste sensation in my mouth. Then, to add to it, the skin on my gums starts flaking off. I called listerine to find out if this is a normal side effect and they had apparently never heard of this before, even though I've seen hundreds of complaints about various mouthwashes when I googled it, Listerine Whitening Pre-Brush rinse included. So, for my flaky gums and loss of taste I'm getting a $6 check in the mail. That's nice.
